Say hello to: HESPERONIS

HESPERORNIS (hes-per-ORN-iss) "Western Bird" (Greek hesperos = western + ornis = bird, referring to the area where it was found)

Not a DINOSAUR, but a 4-foot (1.2-m) primitive, flightless bird resembling a modern look or grebe. Although this bird could not fly, it was a good swimmer and diver. It lived on the surface of the NIOBRARA SEA. Sharp teeth lined the beak of this fish eater. Its FOSSILS were found in the Late Creataceous deposits in Kansas and Alberta, Canada.
